Short video on the VT Xplore project
VT Xplore
The aim of this project was to determine whether the inclusion of an augmented reality (AR) experience into the undergraduate recruitment lifecycle can improve enrollment into Virginia Tech.
We used various UX Research and Design principles to identify possible avenues of incorporating AR into a “mobile” platform and to understand user needs & system requirements. We also built a prototype design of the system and evaluated its usefulness.
HF Redesign
The aim of this project was to redesign an existing passive noise cancellation device. The existing product was aimed at industrial and domestic users and claimed to protect hearing with a 31dB NRR, while allowing speech to be heard.
Although effective in noise reduction, the existing product was uncomfortable for users during long-duration usages. Additionally, the product was difficult to put on and keep in place.
Our redesign focused on improving comfort, user experience and the aesthetic appeal of the product without compromising on the passive noise cancellation characteristics.
Flipboard: An Experience Study
In this article, I try to evaluate the overall user experience of its mobile app. The purpose of this article is not to redesign Flipboard, but instead hopefully provide valuable insights that may help future redesigns of Flipboard and other news aggregators.
